Dan Thomas Prim, a native of Siluria, AL and current resident of Mobile, AL, died Thursday, January 10, 2019 at the age of 87.
Dan was a member of Snow Road First Baptist Church; was a US Army Veteran and retired as store manager of Baer's Department Store after 54 years of service. He lived in Shelby County for 75 years and retired to a farm in Autauga County until six years ago when his health began to fail and he and Betty moved to Mobile, AL. God has been good to Dan. He had no children of his own but took Betty's family as his own to love. His two small canine companions have been a great comfort to him since his confinement to a wheel chair five years ago. Dan faithfully served his Lord as long as he was able. He would want anyone who reads this to know that Jesus came and died for everyone who believes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Ranson Prim and Lillie Bell Lowery Prim.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 63 years, Betty Gail Fisher Prim; his canine companions, Mr. T. and Lae Lae; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Dr. Paul Montalva, will be held Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM in Alabama State Veterans Memorial Park in Spanish Fort, Alabama.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Mr. Prim's name be made to: Snow Road First Baptist Church, 2370 Snow Road North, Semmes, AL 36575.
