Daphne Foster

MOBILE, AL - Daphne Anne Foster, 58, of Mobile, AL, died October 23, 2023, at the Retreat, Hospice by Saad, following a long battle with glioblastoma.

Daphne was born October 8, 1965 in Okolona, MS to Norman H. Foster, Jr. of Mobile and Linda Searcy-Goodwin of Shannon, MS. She received a bachelors degree in geography from the University of South Alabama and worked in the engineering department with Mobile County.

Survivors include her sister, Shannon M. Johnson (husband, David and daughter, Clara); her stepmother, Susan Foster; her uncle, Ronald Foster (Cheryl Palm); her aunts, Donna Foster and Ellen Foster; cousins, Ryan Foster (wife, Kelly and daughter, Bridget), Matt Foster (wife, Carrie and daughter, Sadie), Elliott Foster (wife, Sara and children, William and Vivian); and stepbrothers, Scott Thistlethwaite (wife, Maria and son, Jackson) and Chris Thistlethwaite (wife, Brooke and children, Titus and Mila).

She is preceded in death by Norman H. Foster, Jr. and Linda Searcy-Goodwin and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Norman H. Foster, Sr. of Mobile and Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Searcy of Okolona, MS. Pallbearers are Ryan Foster, Matt Foster, Elliott Foster, Scott Thistlethwaite and Chris Thistlethwaite. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service, Friday, October 27, at Our Savior Catholic Church in Mobile. Arrangements are made by Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
