David Hastings

David Randall Hastings, a native of Charleston, SC and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Monday, October 12, 2015 at the age of 74. He was a graduate of McNeese State University in Lake Charles, LA; was a retired insurance claims adjuster and was a member of Kingswood United Methodist Church and Loop Lodge 895 F&AM. He was active in two Mardi Gras mystic societies, Mobile Gulf Coast CCCC, Azalea City Beamers, and the Mobile German Society. He was preceded in death by his parents, Randall Hastings and Agnes Elizabeth Johnson Hastings. His survivors include his wife of 53 years, Nancy Lee Smith Hastings; his son, Michael David Hastings; his brother, Dr. Paul Russell (Dianne) Hastings; Betty Jane (Joe) Gajate; two nephews, Paul Russell Hastings, II and William Scott (Jodie) Hastings; one niece, Natalie Garcia Cabrera; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2015 from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 10:00 AM and 12:00 Noon. Graveside honors will be rendered by Loop Lodge #895 F&AM and the Alabama Army National Guard. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kingwood UMC or Loop Lodge #895. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
