David Wilson

On Tuesday, August 2, 2022, David LeRoy "Elroy" Wilson, passed away peacefully at his home in Mobile, Alabama at the age of 72. David was born October 11, 1949, to Hazel and LeRoy Wilson, who precede him in death. In life, David's bravery led to his rank as an SPC in the United States Military, in which he served in the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. For his meritorious service, David was the recipient of The Bronze Star Medal and The Army Commendation Medal. On May 30, 1970, David married Sandra Houston, his loving wife of 52 years. He is survived by Sandra and their three daughters Amy Phelps (Jason), Jill Oberkirch (Joey), and Amber Renfroe (Chris). Known for his humor, integrity, and vibrant stories, David is most remembered by the love he had for his family, including his sister Karen Leonard and his brother William Wilson, as well as his 8 grandchildren, David Logan, Chanler, Carter, Addison, Hannah, Kylee, Isabella, and Owen. He is also survived by his wonderful nieces and nephews, as well as his brothers and sisters-in-law.
