Dennis "Poppy" was born to Don and Evelyn Slade on December 2, 1964, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He worked at the United States Postal Office where he was a transportation supervisor. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing golf with his brother, daughter, and friends. He loved to watch Alabama football with his son-in-law, and he especially enjoyed spending time with the most important people in his life: his wife, daughter, and two grandchildren. He always liked to take trips with his family, and many memories were made that they will all forever cherish in their hearts. Dennis was a hard-worker, problem-solver, giver, and helper to anyone that was in need. He was loving, compassionate, reliable, courageous, and was a rock for his family. He loved God and his family more than anything.
We have been blessed for the time that God gave him to us. We all know that he will be waiting for us with open arms when we are called home.
