Dolores Barbier Parrillo, a native of Gretna, Louisiana, a former resident of Norco, Louisiana and a resident of Mobile, Alabama since 1968, died on Tuesday. She was born October 13, 1928 in Gretna, LA. She attended Gretna High School and Soule's Business College in New Orleans, LA. She received the Woman of the Year award from the Jr. Chamber of Commerce Auxiliary in Norco, LA. She retired from SeaLand Service, Inc., Mobile in 1980. She was a former member of the Mobile Business Women's Association of Mobile, Spring Hill Stompers Square Dance Club, the Azalea Ballroom Dance Club and a local mystic society. She also was a volunteer at Mobile's Fort Conde Welcome Center, a member of St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister, and a member of the Ladies Altar Society. She lived a full active life and made many friends along the way. Mrs. Parrillo is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. Parrillo, Jr.; her parents, Florence Mire Barbier and I. Max Barbier; a sister, Geraldine Barbier; and a grandchild, William Zeller. She is survived by her four children, Marlene Parrillo Zeller (Paul); Barry Joseph Parrillo (Shirley); Mark Steven Parrillo (Janelle); Darnel Parrillo-Casper (Gary); 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and 3 great- great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Parrillo requested any donations be made to St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church, 5023 Camelot Dr., Mobile, AL 36619. The wake will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM. The Mass will be held at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 1:30 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
