Marshall David Carlisle, age 66, of Mobile, AL - the sun rose October 14, 1949 and the sun set April 9, 2016. He was born in Lincoln County, TN, but spent most of his life in Mobile, AL. He served as a gunner on the USS Monticello in the US Navy in Viet Nam from 1969 until 1971. He was a carpenter by trade. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey D. Carlisle and Zella Estelle Coe Carlisle, and three brothers, Fred, Wayne, and Roy Carlisle; and one sister, Kathy Bohannan. His survivors include his sons, Joseph David Carlisle and Charles Anthony (Shannon) Booth; six grandchildren, Margaret C. Carlisle, Austin Booth, Kayla Booth, Karley Booth, Kenley Booth and Trey Booth; four brothers, Lonnie (Wanda) Carlisle, Danny (Brenda) Carlisle, Ricky (Denise) Carlisle and Jerry Carlisle; four sisters, Delores Marty, Audrey Hill, Ann (Bill) Sowell and Janice Tate; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 15, 2016 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Graveside services will follow Friday at 2:30 PM in the Alabama State Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 34904 State Highway 225, Spanish Fort, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Mr. Carlisle's name be made to Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14501, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
