Donald Ray "Slug" Bohannon, born on February 1, 1950, died at his residence on January 30, 2015 at the age of 64. He was a native of Kilgore, TX and longtime resident of Mobile, AL. Mr. Bohannon was a veteran of the US Air Force, served in the Vietnam War and was retired after working 30 years in the flooring business. He was preceded in death by his father, Nick Bohannon; his mother, Clara Belle Bodiford Bohannon, both of Monroeville, AL; his sister, Betty Laverne Jones and his brother, Vernon Woodrow Bohannon, both of Mobile, AL. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Elvy Luana Banks Bohannon; his daughter, Shanna Lynn (Ronnie) Estes; his son, Corey Blake Bohannon; three grandchildren, Tyler Austin Bohannon, Kayson Brent Estes, Layna Brooke Estes; his brother, Herbert Madison (Joyce) Bohannon, all of Mobile, AL; many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at 12:00 Noon from the Solid Rock Church of God. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday from 10:00 AM until service time.
