Donald Slater

March 21, 1957-December 14, 2019

Donald “Leigh” Slater, Sr. passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019 in Mobile, Al after a lengthy illness.  He was born March 21, 1957 in Mobile, AL to Donald Preston Slater and Joanne Stewart Slater.  He was preceded in death by his father.  His survivors include his mother, three children, Kristin (Steven) Laborde, Margaret Rodgers and Donald L. (Sheena) Slater, Jr.; eight grandchildren, Braxton, Madison, Gabrielle and Natalie Laborde, Cole, Hannah and Hunter Seebeck   and Leighton Slater; his three siblings, Joe (Susan) Slater, Glenn (Eve) Slater and Molly (Mike) Jones; a host of extended family and friends.  John Jones, Max Jones, Mike Jones, Jr., Don Slater, Lance Slater and Joey King will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Mr. Slater’s name is made to the charity of your choice.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 19, 2019 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday beginning at 12:00 Noon.  Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.  Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
