Donald and Lucy Paintin. Donna grew up in Mobile graduating from Murphy High School.
Donna loved sharing her fond memories of being a member of the Panther band., especially marching in parades. She spent her working life in the insurance industry.
An expert typist, and grammatical whiz, Donna's son and certain young friends never had to worry if their term papers would be accepted! Donna was a pet lover always having a puppy or kitty, sometimes both at the same time. After retirement Donna answered an add the newspaper for anyone interested in the dulcimer. Although not exactly sure just what the dulcimer was other than a musical instrument: her love of music led her to investigate. This resulted in a 30 plus year hobby which became a passion of playing the dulcimer. She joined several groups including Deep South Dulcimer Association, Jammin Folkes, and others. She loved the comradery and friendships built through these associations. This included traveling throughout the southeast and as far as Michigan in their RV, first with her husband Oscar of over 50 years and later with her best friend Joyce. They would meet at various state parks and play music all weekend and enjoy potluck suppers. The groups would also play at store openings, schools, and being in her 80s she especially enjoyed playing at the retirement homes.
