Donna Ruth Vinson Hullibarger, a native of Owens Chapel, TN and a resident of Mobile, AL since 1971, died Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the age of 83. Donna graduated from East High School in Robertson County, TN and, as an adult, returned to school graduating from the University of South Alabama. When her daughters were young in Portsmouth, VA, she was an active leader in the PTA, Girl Scouts, her Ladies Bible Class and her neighborhood garden club. In Mobile, AL she volunteered for the Helpline crisis line for many years. She was a member of the Springhill Memorial Medical Center Auxiliary for over 25 years; a member of USA Odyssey and an active member of University Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" F. Hullibarger, Jr.; her parents, W. Clyde Vinson and Lillian Audrey Carver Vinson and four brothers, Joe Vinson, Billy Vinson, Anthony Vinson and Terry Vinson. Her survivors include her two daughters, Diane (Ken) Jackson and Carol (Mike) Jackson; four grandchildren, Bryan (Lindsay) Jackson, Brandon Jackson, Emily Jackson and Kyle Jackson; one great-granddaughter, Lily Jackson; two sisters, Clydean V. Parrish and Betty V. Dempsey; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:00 Noon until service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the University of South Alabama General Scholarship Fund or the Springhill Memorial Auxiliary Nursing Students Scholarship Fund.
