Doris Hayles

Doris Pickron Hayles 1926-2017 A native of Uriah, AL and longtime resident of Mobile, AL went to be with Jesus on March 23, 2017. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was always full of life, an excellent seamstress and especially loved to dance and travel. Her love for traveling carried her into all 50 states and many areas around the world. Her devotion to her grandchildren is best exemplified by the Azalea Trail dress she designed and painstakingly crafted for her oldest granddaughter, including a miniaturized exact replica which she proudly displayed on a Barbie Doll inside a glass case. She loved and served her Lord as a long-time member of Fulton Road Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and husband of 51 years, Mr. Elbert R. (Abe) Hayles, Jr. and a sister, Betty Pickron Mason. Her survivors include two daughters, Diane Hayles Bullock and Donna Hayles Ortmann; one son, Danny R. Hayles; two sisters, Dorothy Pickron Hubert and Nell Pickron Hadley; two brothers, Charles Pickron and Bobby Pickron; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM followed by services in the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to Fulton Road Baptist Church Building Fund, 1800 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL 36605.
