Doris "Faye" Sheffield Pettis, age 70, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 25, 2018 at her home in West Mobile, AL surrounded by her children. She was born on November 25, 1947. Faye graduated from Satsuma High School in 1967 and worked at Bruno's, INC. for forty one years before retiring. She enjoyed an array of things: working in her yard/gardening, baking sweets, the beach, and her galore of hats, lighthouses, and carousels. Also, very special to her heart was her dog, Sassy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth & Syble Sheffield; her brother, Leon Sheffield; and a very special brother-in-law, Larry McMullan. Faye is survived by her children, Kenneth Berry (Justin), and Michelle Sons (Jerry); three sisters, Ellen McMullan, Wanda Pierce (Danny), and Elaine O'Bannon; one honorary sister, Sandra Wiley; four grandchildren, Amber Bailey (Daniel), Justin Stokes (Shandy), Cassie Bailey (Robert), Ashlen Jarvis (Blade); one great granddaughter, Alana Bailey; and one great grandson (expecting), Dawson Bailey. The family would like to thank everyone at Kindred Hospice for the support and the special care they provided, especially Cindy Dahmer, Carrie Allenbach, Vanessa Powe, and Dorene Curry. Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 2pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will start at 1 pm.
