Doris Joan Gilbert Redden, a native of Isabella, TN and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, went to be with our Lord on Friday, May 6, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, Addist Delmar Gilbert and Birdie Lou Walden Gilbert; her husband, Donald James Redden; her sons, William Delmar Brown, Bobby Joe Brown, Kenneth Glen Brown and Terry Wayne Brown; her sister, Brenda Gail Kruger; the father of her children, Horace Leroy Brown, Sr.; two grandsons, William Joseph Lumpkin and Billy Joe Lumpkin; and one granddaughter, Tamara Lee Ellard. Her survivors include her children, Donna Jean (Bill) Bratton, Mona Dean (Joe) Lumpkin, Gwendolyn Sue Ledger, Vickie Ann (Billy Ray) Evans; her sons, Horace Leroy (Linda) Brown, Jr., Jamie Harold (Debbie) Brown and John David (Brandy) Brown; her sisters, Betty Jean (Larry) Cosby, Shirley Jane Carroll, Nina June (James) Carroll and Bobbie Suelane Pearson; her brother, John Benny (Judy) Gilbert; 17 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 6:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 PM until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Redden's name to the Grand Bay Community Center, 11610 US-90, Grand Bay, AL 36541.
