Doris Nellie Patteson Serene, a native of Mobile, AL, former resident of Albuquerque, NM and current resident of Grand Bay, AL passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 age the age of 92. She was a 1940 graduate of Mobile County High School and thereafter graduated from Huffstettler Business College. She was a former employee of International Paper Co. and Blue Cross Blue Shield. She loved to travel and was adventurous. Everyone enjoyed her dry wit and whistling talents. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bob Alvin Serene her parents, Edward Samuel Patteson and Annie Gator Patteson and her siblings, Thomas Edward, Sidney Laurence, Winnifred Annie, Evelyn Marjorie, Ruth Ellen and Alfred William. Doris had no children, but she leaves surviving countless nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
