Dorothy Johnson

Dorothy Jean Johnson, 87, passed away on May 7th, 2024. Dorothy was born on August 28,1936 as the 3rd child of Fred and Ilene Pittman. She grew up in Irvington, Alabama and was a long term resident of Coden, Alabama. "Dot" as she was affectionately known, worked as the Librarian at Mose Hudson Tapia Library in Bayou La Batre, Alabama. She was a dedicated mother and wife. She is preceded in death by husband Windsor Charles Johnson Sr and daughter in law Tina Johnson. Dorothy is survived by her son, Windsor Charles Johnson Jr of Irvington, Alabama. She is also survived by granddaughters Candace (Roland) Ellis, Janice (Steve) Kuzia, and Wendy Johnson and four great granddaughters Kayden Ellis, Lilly Ellis, Charlotte Kuzia and Nora Kuzia. Her family will honor her memory with a funeral service on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at 12noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home . The family will receive friends from 11am until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Odd Fellow Cemetery.
