Douglas Andrew Jones was born in Ft. Rucker, AL on November 24, 1963 to Walter A. Jones and Helena Jones-Hanford. Douglas was an Army brat and was fortunate to travel and experience different climates, people and ways of life. He departed this earth on February 12, 2017 after a brief illness. He is survived by his parents, Walter A. Jones (Bonnie) and Helena Hanford of Mobile, AL; his son, Jared Monroe and granddaughter, Zaelynn Rose Whitson of Paris, TX; his sister, Marcia Starling (Ray); nephews, Jordan Starling (Trisha) and Eric Starling (Ashley), all of Mobile, AL; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Regina Jones; grandparents, Alfred and Lutrelle Snedeker of Mobile, AL and Stephen and Myrtle Jones of Cleveland, MS. Douglas graduated from Gulf Coast Academy in 1982 and attended the University of South Alabama. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
