Durward Crocker

Durward Roy Crocker, loving father, brother, and husband, was born April 14, 1942, and entered into his heavenly home on Saturday, April 4, 2020, at the age of 77. He was preceded in death by his father, James Durward Crocker; mother, Reta Louise Holifield Crocker, and brother, Arthur Crocker. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Bobbi Crocker; daughters, Kim Crocker Odom and Julie (Jonathan) Stebbins; grandson, Zach Odom; granddaughters, Julianne and Bethany Stebbins; brothers, James Alton (Winkie) Crocker, David (Penny) Crocker, and Freddie (Debbie) Crocker; many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Durward worked as a chemical engineer for Mobile Solvent and Supply for over 30 years. He graduated from Theodore High School in 1960 and from the University of South Alabama in 1971 with his Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering. He gave his life to Christ on August 10, 1980 and would urge everyone to seek a relationship with Christ for eternal salvation. He was a longtime member of Travis Road Baptist Church where he served tirelessly as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, sound operator, choir member, personnel committee member, and other countless duties. He loved to fish, shoot guns with his daughters, teach his grandchildren from his depth of knowledge, help others, serve the church, spend time with his grandchildren, and was boldly patriotic. Services will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, April 10, 2020, with visitation from 9:00 AM-10:00 AM, funeral service from the chapel at 10:00 AM and graveside committal to follow, weather permitting. Due to the pandemic at this time, all services are limited to his immediate family. The service will be streamed live via Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home for all who are unable to attend the service. The live stream is available through the link below.
