Eddis Grey (Kelley) Williamson died on December 16, 2023, at her home in Mobile, Alabama. She was 94 years old. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her children.
Eddis was born February 3, 1929, to Horace and Ida Victoria Kelley. She grew up in Clark County, Alabama on a working farm where she was the 10th of 11 children. She met her husband, Bill, at age 17 and married soon after. They had four children, Jimmie, William, Joan and Anita and were married for 73 years.
The family moved to Mobile, Alabama in 1959 when Bill got a job at Brookley Air Force Base. She spent the last 64 years of her life in Mobile. She was a long-time member of Grace United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her sons Jimmie (Gloria) Williamson, William (Sharon) Williamson, daughters Joan DeMouy and Anita (Ed) Strayer, five grandchildren; Emily (Ryan) Kaiser, Rachel (Rico) Galimberti, Blake (Marcia) Williamson, Amy (Andy) Tull, Adam (Kesia) DeMouy and seven great grandchildren; Natalie and Claire Kaiser, Henry and Jack Galimberti, James Williamson, and Aaron and Anna Tull and her sister Mary Baugh.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William (Bill) Henry Williamson, her parents, Horace and Ida Victoria Kelley, siblings AJ Kelley, Hubert Kelley, Gordon Kelley, Lonnie Kelley, Ruby Clyde Pugh, Emma Newsom, Mable Trull, Mayme Smith, Nomie Clark and son-in-law Mark DeMouy.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mobile, Alabama, 6100 Three Notch Road 36619. Visitation is at 1:00 pm with the service at 2:00 p.m. Graveside services immediately following at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
