Mrs. Edith M. Berry (born 5 July 1917, in Coldwater, Tate Co, MS) died on Thursday, 15 March 2017, in Mobile, AL. She was 100 years old. Olive Branch, MS, was her childhood home, and she and her husband moved to Mobile and settled in 1959. She was a member of Cottage Hill Baptist Church, where she taught children's 5-year-old Sunday School for over 30 years, and Dauphin Way Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband James Berry; parents Lawrence and Olive Massey; and brothers Leonard Massey and Kenneth Massey. She is survived by her sister Fay Franks of Broken Arrow, OK; sister-in-law Bobbie Davidson of Olive Branch, MS; daughter Regena (Norvelle) Sawyer of Mobile; sons Frank Berry and Jim Berry of Mobile; granddaughters Heather (Ryan) Zempel of Washington, DC, and Laura (Casey) McClure of Nashville, TN; great-granddaughters Ruth McClure, Sarah McClure, and Sawyer Zempel; and long-time family friend David Hooper of Mobile, AL. Funeral services will be held on Monday, 19 March 2018, at 10:00 AM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Internment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday,19 March 2018, from 9:00 AM-10:00 AM at the funeral home.
