Edna Faye Rowell, 88, of Mobile, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 29th, 2022.
She was born Edna Faye Pugh and grew up in Jay, FL in 1933 as the thirteenth of sixteen siblings to Riley and Leona Pugh.
Faye loved the Lord and her husband of 69 years, Roy Rowell. She devoted her life to her three children, Diane Sisk (Steve), Kenny Rowell (Gina), and Brenda Gibson (Ronnie); her grandchildren Ashley Reinsmith (David), Garrett Sisk (Katelyn), and Avery Powell; and her great-grandchildren Amelia and Audrey Reinsmith.
After raising her children she worked at Gayfers for over fifteen years.
Faye loved to host gatherings and fill her home with love and laughter. She was the Pugh family matriarch for over thirty years and lived up to her nickname of "Sarge."
Faye had a sharp wit and was known for her homemade biscuits and cornbread dressing.
She was especially fond of the time she got to spend with her siblings and their families. There was a special bond between the Pugh sisters and they were a force to be reckoned with. We are comforted in knowing that they are all now reunited again in heaven.
Please join us in celebrating her life, Tuesday afternoon, July 5th, 2022 for a visitation at 1pm followed by a graveside service at 2pm on the grounds of Mobile Memorial Gardens, 6100 Three Notch Road, Mobile, AL. A reception will follow at the Rowell home after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ United Methodist Church at 6101 Grelot Rd, Mobile, AL 36609 in her memory.
