Edwin Clay Gartman, 72, a native of Fernbank, AL and longtime resident of Bayou La Batre, AL, died at home Wednesday, September 16, 2015 surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his father, James Cecil Gartman and Nettie Fortner Gartman and his brother, Ricky Gartman. He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years, Catherine Delcambre Gartman; son, Clay Anthony Gartman, Sr.; daughter, Dania Gartman; 3 grandchildren; 4 brothers; 1 sister; nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret's Catholic Church in Bayou La Batre, AL Saturday, September 19, 2015 at 10:00 AM, with visitation at the church beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Bayou La Batre, AL. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
