Elaine Gonnella

Elaine Faye Shaffer Gonnella passed from this life and into the arms of her Saviour on February 9, 2017, at the Spring Hill Medical Center in Mobile, Alabama. She was 62 years old, having been born on September 24, 1954 in Indiana, Pennsylvania.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Elizabeth Anne Gonnella, and a brother, William Shaffer. She is survived by her husband, David E. Gonnella, her daughter and son-in-law, Rachel Lynne and Walker Seelke, parents Donald and Alma Shaffer, brother and sister-in-law Samuel and Faye Shaffer, sister and brother-in-law Marilyn Jane and Harry Rimmer, nieces and nephews.
Her greatest joy was in serving the Lord Jesus Christ and teaching children about Him. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, jigsaw puzzles, and her friendships with the ladies of the church.
A funeral service in her memory will be held at the Magnolia Springs Baptist Church in Theodore on Sunday, February 12th at 3:00 p.m. Officiating will be her husband and church pastor, the Rev. Dr. David E. Gonnella. The service will be preceded by a public visitation at 2:00 p.m., and followed by a fellowship dinner in the L.B. Wilson Fellowship Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Missions Fund of the Magnolia Springs Baptist Church in Theodore.
