Elizabeth (Sprinkle) Meriwether, age 77, passed away in the comfort of her home on August 30, 2021 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on July 8, 1944 in Fayette, AL to Jeptha and Floy Sprinkle. Mrs. Meriwether graduated from Theodore High School in 1960 and retired after many years of work from the Mobile County Public Library. She was a talented musician, song writer and singer. She also published a book with her son, Robert and enjoyed many hobbies including sewing, playing guitar and painting. She is described by her loved ones as the "fountain of knowledge for the family" and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mrs. Meriwether was preceded in death by her parents, Jeptha V. Sprinkle and Floy L. Sprinkle; brother, Vinon Lee Sprinkle; granddaughter, Jessica D. Meriwether; uncle, James Otts; aunt, Kathleen Jackinowicz.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 53 years, Delber W. Meriwether; children, Paul E. Meriwether, Susan M. (Keith) Todd, Linda D. (Gabriel) Mathews, Richard L. Meriwether, Robert L. Meriwether; brother, Garry E. Sprinkle; 6 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; cousin, Barbara Pounders; aunt, Iris Roth; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
A 10 am memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at Parkway Assembly of God: 3900 Dauphin Island Parkway, Mobile, AL 36605.
