Emogene "Emma" McCluer Husby, a longtime resident of Theodore, AL, died Sunday, July 16, 2017 at the age of 85. She retired from South Central Bell Telephone Company after 35 years of service. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Lawrence McCluer and Mary Agnes Fincher McCluer; her husband of 65 years, Gerald Lee Husby; her daughter, Sharon Husby Kicklighter; her sister, Betty Jean McCluer and her great-grandson, Bruce Glayden Kicklighter. Her survivors include her daughter, Jerri Husby (Mark) Meador; two grandchildren, April Woodward (Pat) Farris and Jaime Kicklighter (Joey) Coulson; two great-grandchildren, Paytyn Thomas Tolin and Kaytlyn Nevaeh Coulson; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Michael McLeod, will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 10:00 AM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 8:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Mrs. Husby's name be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
