Ethel Metzger

Ethel Bodiford Metzger, 86, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, May 4th, 2022.

Ethel "B" is survived by William "Bill" J. Metzger, Jr., her loving husband of 31 years; three daughters, Glenda Young Johnson, Sheila Young Greene and Susan Young Sheffield (Tommy); seven grandchildren, Renee, Gary, Jr., Ann Marie, Ashley, Casey, Cameron and Hunter; five beautiful great-grandchildren; Bill's three children, Sharon, Billy and Mark and four grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and countless friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Columbus Moore Bodiford and Hattie Mae Brown Bodiford; Colvin Young, her husband of 30 years and the father of her children; Gary Lamar Young, Sr, her son; and all eight of her beloved brothers and sisters.

Born Ethel Corine Bodiford. Her Bodiford family loved her as "Doot", the nickname they gave her. Doot was 16 when she became "Mrs. Young". At the age of 18 she started her life as "Momma". Momma became "Granny". She was blessed to have Bill, who loved her as "Ethel B" and always will.

She gave and received an unmeasurable amount of love to and from her family. Her spirit will live on in all of us forever.
