Etta Driskell Brown, lifelong resident of Tanner Williams and longtime member of Palestine Baptist Church went home to be with her savior on Saturday, July 29, 2023. At 15 years old, she gave her life to Christ at Palestine Baptist Church and was Baptized in Big Creek lake when she was 15 years old.
She was born on March 30, 1932, a graduate of Semmes High School. During High School, she won the local 4H steer competition, and competed in the national competition in Chicago, Il. She was employed with the Mobile County School System where she retired. During retirement she enjoyed crocheting, gardening, fellowship with her friends, spending time with grand children and great grandchildren, and travelling.
She was preceded in death by; her husband of 49 years, Robert H. Brown; father, Levi Driskell; mother, Katie Driskell; step-mother, Jessie Driskell; brother, Raymond Driskell; and great grandson, Robert Cooper Benefield.
She is survived by; her sons, Donnie Brown (Tammy), Neal Brown (Rae), and Joe Brown (Teresa); grandchildren, Chrissy Benefield (Mark), Jason Brown, Tiffany Bru (Greg), Katie Johnson (Aaron), Matt Brown (Meg), Chris Brown (Mallory), Kristen Lawhorn (Tyler), and Brooks Bobinger (Charley); 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Melba Peirce (Felix); sister-in-law, Quanna Driskell; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Serving as pallbearers are Jason Brown, Aaron Johnson, Chris Brown, Mark Benefield, Greg Bru, Matt Brown, Brooks Bobinger, and Tyler Lawhorn.
Services will be held Tuesday, August 1st at Palestine Baptist Church at 1 P.M. Burial will follow in Palestine Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to services from 11 A.M. to 1 P.M.
