Eulene Kyte Norris died peacefully in her sleep on October 1, 2016. She was born April 7, 1929 in Canoe, AL and moved to Mobile, AL at age 6 with her parents, John W. Kyte, Sr. and Ina Cruitt Kyte. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Palmer D. Norris; her daughter, Sandra Norris Fulton; granddaughter, Connie Fulton Hunt; and five siblings, Otis Kyte, David Kyte, Johnny Kyte, Gilbert Kyte and Vivian Kyte Jarrett. She is survived by her sons, Jack (Rhonda) Norris and Paul (Anita) Norris; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Voncille Kyte Jarrett; other relatives and friends.
She was a resident of Semmes, AL for more than 45 years, where she was a member of Semmes First Baptist Church. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, first at Bowen Lodge and later at Camelia Lodge where she was a Past Worthy Matron. She was a loyal friend to those she knew and loved. She set a very high standard in countless ways. It is up to us to attempt to meet those standards in our lives. She was very talented. She enjoyed painting, pen and ink drawings, making ceramics and was a varied craft enthusiast. She could glue a broken piece of ceramic back together, even if it were broken into a hundred pieces. She spent her last months with Paul and Anita Norris near Jacksonville, FL under the care of Vitas Healthcare. In lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to the Alzheimers Foundation. The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Thursday, October 6, 2016 from 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home
Chapel at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
