Evelyn Suggs

Evelyn Lucille Suggs, age 93, of Theodore, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at her home surrounded by her family. Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the arrangements.

Evelyn, also known as "Elbo", dedicated her life to taking care of her family and anyone she could help guide in the right direction. Countless lives were impacted and changed due to her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin F. Suggs; sons, Benjamin F. Suggs, Jr. and Dennis C. Suggs; and siblings, Ivan Benson, Leon Benson, William Benson, Loren Benson, Cathryn Thomas, Edna Ellis, Letha Berry, Doris McKee, and Pearl Comerford.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol James and husband, David; daughter-in-law, Naomi Sells; grandchildren, Kimberly James, Tracy Suggs, and Justin Suggs; great-grandchildren, Benson Bender and Jaxson Bender, who were her shining stars; sisters, Barbara Simpson and Bertice Dresback; her personal friends and caregivers for so many years, Sandra, Pam, and Terry; and a host of friends through her life.

Graveside services will be held Friday, March 12, 2021, at 12:00 p.m. at Serenity Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. prior to the graveside service.
