Evolyn LaVerene Pipkins Robinson, 81 years of age passed away Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Sacred Heart Home operated by Little Sisters of the Poor. Evolyn was in the care of family and friends when she passed away.
Evolyn was preceded in death by her mother and father Julius and Ola Jones Pipkins. She was born in State Line, Mississippi on May 10, 1934, and was a member of State Line High School class of 1951.
Evolyn was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Joseph Curtis Robinson whom she married on February 26, 1965 in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Peter Rouse served as Best Man, and Marguerite Rouse served as Matron of Honor.
Evolyn was also preceded in death by her brother Jay Lee Pipkins of Georgetown, Alabama.
Evolyn is survived by her brother Rev. Millard Pipkins, a number of in-laws, nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
Evolyn was a member of the Assemblies of God Church. She served as a Payroll Supervisor for twenty three years with the GAF Corporations. She also was a member of numerous organizations, the most recent serving as local chapter President of The Red Hat Society. Evolyn gave many treasured hand made gifts through her talents of being a seamstress. She was willing to share those talents with anyone that was willing to learn.
Evolyn and Curtis did not have any biological children, however, there are many whom they accepted and treated as their children throughout the years. They also traveled extensively both in the United States and abroad and were cherished by those whom they met.
Viewing and funeral services will be held November 15, 2015 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, 6040 Three Notch Road, Mobile, Alabama 36619. Viewing will be from 1pm till 2pm in the Chapel with the Funeral service to follow. Interment will be Monday 10am. Services will be officiated by Rev Tim Pipkin.
