Born on November 2, 1931 passed away peacefully on March 8th, 2023 in Fairhope, Alabama. He had been a resident of Fairhope since 2007 and previously lived on St. Simon Island, Georgia. Following graduation from high school, he enlisted in U.S. Airforce as an airplane mechanic/engineer stationed at Brookley Field. The story of how he and Granny met is a treasure during the time of his service! Following his service in the military, Frank, never ceased striving for success to ensure that his family was always cared for and provided well. Since 2007, Frank and Patsy were members of the First Baptist Church of Fairhope. They loved their adult Sunday School class who became their Fairhope family.
Frank leaves to cherish his loving memory his three (3) Sons, Frank Chris Wickline (Caroline), Jeffery Lanier Wickline (Paula), and Mark James Wickline (Dawn).
Frank and Patsy have seven (7) grandchildren, Heather Noel Vermeer, Lauren Melissa West, Jordan Taylor Wickline, Jessica Shareese Wickline, Madison Marie Wickline, Katie Marie Wickline, and Mark James Wickline Jr. They also have four (4) great grandchildren, Sawyer Vermeer, Saylor Vermeer, Scarlett Wilson and Lucas Wilson.
Frank is preceded in death by his wife, Patsy of 70 years, whom we know was there to welcome him home. He is also preceded in death by his mom, Marion M. Wickline, father John L. Wickline, brother Elmer E Wickline and sister June Wickline.
Frank, Papaw as he is known to us, was dedicated to his family. He always strived to make everything exactly perfect for them. He was always there to support and show counsel with words of wisdom or a learning lesson. He was firm, but an encourager to his family to support them in their successes, no matter their direction. Frank enjoyed golfing and was always there to take his kids and grandkids for a round. He enjoyed reading, great music, playing the piano and teaching all the family a few tunes on the piano. He most enjoyed studying the bible and teaching Sunday school!
