Fred Wolfe

Fred Hartwell Wolfe died peacefully surrounded by family in Mobile, Alabama on Sunday, January 3rd, 2021. He was 83 years old. Fred was born on December 5th, 1937 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. He graduated from Rock Hill High School in 1956 and married his beloved wife, Anne Heath. He played football for and graduated from the University of South Carolina. He was called to the ministry in the spring of 1957 and faithfully served and preached the gospel for 63 years. He was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Fred was preceded in death by his wife, Anne, parents Fred Walters Wolfe and Margaret Sturgis Wolfe; his sister Frieda Wolfe Sutton and brothers-in-law James Boyd, John Edens, Mack Sutton, and Sy Rivers.
He is survived by his sons Dr. Mark Wolfe (Margaret) of Hiram, Georgia and Jeffrey Wolfe (Brenda) of Mobile, Alabama; his grandchildren Stephen Wolfe (Lindsey), Rachel Tibbitts (Daniel), Stacy Walsh (Jeff), Laura Lawrence (Joshua), Kelly Wolfe, Brandon Wolfe; thirteen great-grandchildren Trinity Jackson, Lillian Tibbitts, Reagan Wolfe, Avery Wolfe, Lance Tibbitts, Addison Wolfe, Henry Lawrence, Jaye Walsh, Samuel Lawrence, Eva Wolfe, Saylor Wolfe, Theodore Lawrence, and Amelia Walsh; his siblings Betty Wolfe Boyd of Charlotte, NC; Margaret Wolfe Edens of Sumter, SC; Nancy Wolfe Rivers of Ocala, FL; Bill Wolfe (Pat) of Winston Salem, NC; and Jane Wolfe Thomas (Bill) of Greenville, SC; many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to all of the staff and members of Luke 4:18 Fellowship for their constant care, love, and support of Fred.
A private family service will be streamed for the public on Saturday, January 9th at 12 noon.
