Fumiko Schodlbauer

March 3, 1930 — January 26, 2019

Fumiko (Judy) Ando Schodlbauer was born in Tokyo, Japan, March 3,1930 to Saburo and Kin Ando. In 1951 she married Jack Schodlbauer and lived the life of an Army wife enduring frequent moves and long separations while raising 3 sons Richard, Robert and Jack Jr. while Jack served as a Sergeant and Warrant Officer during the Cold War and Vietnam. Fumiko's love of art and flowers inspired her to earn a 4th Degree Master of Ikebana flower arranging. She was a marvelous cook who loved gardening, decorating and shopping with a wry wit that surprised and entertained those who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack who passed in 1990. She is survived by Richard and Patty Schodlbauer of Temple, TX, Robert and Sheliah Schodlbauer of Mobile, Jack Jr. and Suzuanne Schodlbauer of Tallahassee, FL; grandchildren Shelly Juarez and Janna Esqueda of Temple, TX, Myra Stewart and Chris Schodlbauer of North Hollywood, CA, and Jacquelyn Schodlbauer of Oklahoma City, OK; great granddaughters Alivia Claypool and Isabelle Torres; great great grandson Grea Claypool. Graveside services and interment are scheduled for Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 12:00 PM in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilefuneralservice.com.
