George Boyer, 93, a native of Mobile Al. passed away peacefully on Monday July 9th 2018 at home. George was a graduate of Murphy High School and attended the University of Alabama before enlisting in the US Army. He served during WW II in the 140th Army Airways communications squadron in the Pacific. Following the war he worked as a contractor and furniture maker leading to many years as a self-employed cabinet maker. He was a master wood worker and enjoyed rock collecting and traveling. Later in his career he was employed by Ingalls Ship Building as a Model Maker building scale models for the US Navy. After his retirement from the shipyard he donated many years assisting local charities, "Habitat for Humanity" and "Home of Grace" building facilities for their operations. He is survived by his wife Nellie, his 3 children Gary, Jean and Gail, 10 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 7 great great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday July 11th at 9 am followed by services at 10am. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Mr. Boyer's name be made to Home of Grace for Women,
