Sept. 10, 1939-July 10, 2017
Georgia Ann Copeland Smith Hilton, age 77, a resident of Mobile, AL, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017. She was preceded in death by a son, Sidney Paul Smith. She is survived by her husband, Oren H. Hilton, Jr. of Mobile; son, Mark (Tonya) Smith of Semmes, AL; daughter, Patricia (Tommy) Woolf of Belmont, NC; grandchildren, Gene (Ashley) Smith of Wilmer, AL; Boo (Tina) Smith of Mobile, AL; Christina (Clayton) Hudson of Saraland, AL; Billy (Mandy) Saxon, Clemmons, NC; Aaron (Brittany) Smith, Semmes, AL; great grandchildren, Laiten Cody Hudson, Olivia Jordan Smith, Trevor Chapman Smith, Travis Owen Smith, Daniel Brian Smith, Georgia Brooke Smith, Ramona Kay Smith, Luke Sawyer Smith; brother, Jerry Paul (Carole) Copeland, Titusville, FL; stepbrothers, Wayne (Nikki) Bodie, DeFuniak Springs, FL; Frankie (Barbara) Bodie, Mobile, AL; nieces, nephews, and many other relatives and friends. Ann was a retired agent for American Family Life Insurance Company. Among her many talents were being a hairdresser, seamstress, baker, gardener as well as counselor and dear friend to many. Being the Matriarch of the family, Ann gave freely of her time and her heart, making sure no one ever went without and was included in family time or special occasions. She could put on a spread for the holidays to rival no other. She was a fabulous cook and baker, often preparing food and desserts for friends and others less fortunate. There was always room at her table for one more. She opened her home to many in need, taking care of them as if they were her own. She loved to entertain and relished in the joy she could bring to others. She actively participated in all the lives of her children and grandchildren, lending a helping hand at a moment's notice. No task was too much for her to take on. From building, painting, repairing, decorating or just sprucing up, she would rally the troops and it was all hands on deck for the entire family. Many of her summers were spent taking care of grandchildren, keeping them entertained and making memories to last a lifetime. There will be a void in the hearts of her loved ones and she will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. The lives of everyone she knew are far more enriched for having known her. On the wings on Angels soar, forever in our hearts and souls, until we meet again, with much love from your family.
