Geronimo Espiritu

Geronimo Bince Espiritu (Jerry) was born on July 20, 1938 in Rosales, Pangasinan, Philippines. He passed away on January 27, 2021 in his home surrounded by his family. He was 82. Jerry was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Jerry graduated from Rosales High School in 1955. He attended Feati Institute of Technology in Manila, Philippines in 1957 where he was certified as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. In 1959, he joined the United States Navy where he became disabled while serving. He later became a United States citizen in 1967 and eventually retired from the United States Navy in 1971.
Jerry’s successful professional career as a real estate broker led to many awards for his outstanding accomplishments. He was a Lifetime Member of the Million Dollar Club as well as the Top 100 Club. He served as President of the Filipino-American Association in 1983-1984 and 2013-2014. This is where he met lifelong friends who shared similar culture and traditions and delicious Filipino food. As an avid tennis enthusiast, he enjoyed many years as a member of the Bay Area Tennis Association and was always a force to be reckoned with on the courts.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Shirley, of 57 years; his children, Lisa (Peter) Finnorn, Kim Espiritu, and Dr. Troy (Mary) Espiritu; his siblings, Lolita Tagalicud and Tirso Espiritu; his grandchildren, Brandon Finnorn (Bonnie), Natalie Finnorn, Andrew Finnorn (Katelyn), David Finnorn, Brody Espiritu, Lorin Cutrell (Chase), Ellie Espiritu, Maggie Espiritu, Troy Espiritu Jr., and Bin Espiritu.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Sergio and Segundina Espiritu and his younger brothers, Tony and Pedro.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, February 1 at Little Flower Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Visitation will be held prior to Mass starting at 9:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Little Flower Catholic Church.
