Gloria Carroll

Gloria Merle Carroll, a native of Prichard, AL and a resident of Orange Beach, AL since 1993, died Monday, February 3, 2020. She was born to Isaac and Vivian Hobby on October 20, 1938. Merle married Edward H. Carroll on July 27, 1957, and they were married for 58 years. She was a founding member of St. Thomas by the Sea Catholic Church in Orange Beach. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward H. Carroll, Sr.; daughter, Cynthia Lynn Carroll; brother, Charles Roy "Bubbie" Hobby. She is survived by her son, Edward Herbert (Jacque) Carroll, Jr.; three grandsons, Edward Herbert Carroll, III, Joshua Hunter Carroll and Earl Fisher Carroll; great grandchildren, Luna Carroll, Mackie Carroll, Cohen Pruitt and Cullen Pruitt; sister, Mary Evans; her sister-in-law, Dolores Mills of Madisonville, LA. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 7, 2020, at 2pm from St. Thomas by the Sea Catholic Church. The family will receive friends Friday beginning at 1pm at the church. Interment will follow in Orange Beach Community Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Thomas by the Sea Catholic Church, P. O. Box 1190, Orange Beach, AL 36561.
