Grady Marlow, Jr., a native of Tuscaloosa, AL and resident of Semmes, AL, died Monday, May 1, 2017 at the age of 82. He retired from General Communications Corp. in Mobile, AL after 30 years of service. His military service included a number of years of service, active and inactive, in the US Army Reserves. He served in the Alabama Army National Guard Dixie Division in Tuscaloosa, AL; attended US Army basic training in Fort Jackson, SC; attended US Army Signal School at Fort Monmouth, NJ and was assigned to Quarter Master Signal School in Germany as an Instructor of Field Radio Repair. He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady Marlow, Sr. and Mildred Estelle Hagler Marlow; and his son, Billy Ray Marlow. His survivors include his wife of 56 years, Bernadine Alford Marlow; his grandson, Christopher G. (Dallas) Marlow, Sr.; two sisters, Sue Winkle of Saraland, AL and Magdalene (Dan) Gomez of Semmes, AL; one brother, Paul Marlow of Creola, AL; great-grandchildren, Reagan and Christopher G. Marlow, Jr.; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 5, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 12:00 Noon until service time. Interment with military honors will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
