Hammie Chavis of Mobile, AL, WWII Navy Veteran, CPO US Coast Guard retired, born April 10, 1924 died August 12, 2014 at his home. He is survived by three daughters, Mary Chavis, Becky Chavis and Sandy Presley two sonsinlaw, Rickey Namislo and Kenneth Presley one grandchild, Amber Chavez and one grandsoninlaw, Vila Soutthivong. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5 to 7:00 PM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 11 AM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
