Harold Blackwell

Harold Blackwell, 66, of Mobile, AL, passed away at his home on September 21, 2023.

Harold was a lifelong resident of Mobile, graduating from BC Rain High School with the Class of 1976. After high school, Harold proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for six years. After the military, he earned his diesel mechanic degree, which would serve him well for the rest of his life.

Harold was an avid sports fan. He would spend his time in the fall and winter cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide football team, and his spring and summer were spent cheering on the Atlanta Braves each time they played. Whether it was a Roll Tide or a Tomahawk Chop, everyone that knew Harold knew he would be cheering for his favorite teams.

Harold did not only have great taste in sports; he also knew good music. He was a huge Elvis Presley fan, even making a trip to the legendary Graceland to visit the home of the Rock and Roll icon.

Harold is survived by his son, Jonathan Blackwell; brothers, Gary L Blackwell (Phyllis) and Grover "Sonny" Blackwell, Jr.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Rose Blackwell and his sister, Blanche Carlisle.

Harold's family will hold a private committal service at a later date.
