Hassie Shofner

Mrs. Hassie Marie Dees Shofner, of Mobile (Dawes), AL passed away on March 19, 2014 at the age of 94. She graduated from Monroeville High School in Monroeville, AL. Mrs. Shofner was a pioneer of Dawes Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 60 years among other duties. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton McCoy Shofner and her son, Roy Glenn Shofner. She is survived by her daughter, June Marie Strickler (Stanley, deceased) and a son, Cecil Monroe Shofner (Rebecca), a daughter-in-law, Mary Alice Rousseau Shofner. Nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren and numerous friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 3:00 PM from First Baptist Church of Dawes. The family will receive friends at the church 1:30 PM until service time at the church. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be members of First Baptist Church of Dawes and honorary pallbearers will be Marie Shofner's Adult Sunday School Class.
