Hazel Wilson Nix, age 90, of Kingsport, Tennessee, and Grand Bay, Alabama, passed from this life on December 18, 2016, in Mobile, Alabama. Born March 21, 1926, in Norton, Virginia; Ramsey community to loving parents, Robert Lee and Julia Elizabeth Wilson. She served her Lord from a tender age and has been an inspiration to not only her family but many "friends like family." She was a faithful caregiver to so many throughout her lifetime, young and old. She is preceded in death by husbands, Kermit Cress, John Kilgore and Pete Nix. She had 14 siblings and is survived by 3 sisters and 1 brother, Ann Sturgill, Sarah Dotson, Bernice Adams (Foister), Tim Wilson. She is the precious mother of 5 children, Wanda Skeen (Dean), Betty Murray Warden, Ray Cress, Johnny Kilgore (Thelma) and Donna Velie (Jeff). She is the precious grandmother of 20 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 17 great-great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at East Lawn Funeral Home; 4997 Memorial Boulevard, Kingsport, Tennessee on Thursday, December 22, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m. with funeral service to follow 6:00 p.m. with Reverend Melburn Farmer officiating. Burial will be at Glencoe Cemetery in Big Stone Gap, Virginia, on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. There will be a memorial service on January 7, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. at Gospel Fellowship Church 12865 Saeger Road; Grand Bay, Alabama 36541. II Timothy 4:8. Henceforth, there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day, and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.
