Helen Lucille Jarvis, passed away on Thursday, February 8, 2018.
She was born in Burnt Corn, Alabama to Otis and Minnie Womack.
Her family moved to Grand Bay when she was 15 years old. She attended Mobile County High School. In her later years before retirement, she returned there and worked in the cafeteria.
As a member of First Baptist Church Tillman's Corner, she sang with the senior adult choir: "The Amazing Gray's".
Helen loved many things; flower and vegetable gardening, bird watching and crocheting, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren.
She was a woman of strong faith who faced many adversities, always with grace and dignity, and never complaining. She was also a true Southern lady.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, a brother Alvin Womack, a sister, Vivian Rhoads, 2 daughters, JoAnn Ming and Jessie Sangilan and granddaughter Robin Clarke.
She is survived by one daughter Bonnie Clarke (Robert), son-in-law Geoffrey Ming. 7 grandchildren; Tina Sanchez (Rafael), Brian Fields (Jackie), Angel Burdick (Scott), Lisa Marie Sangilan, Tonjua Riehl (Steven), Barry Haynes and Greg Sangilan. 15 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Monday, February 12, 2018 at 9:00 AM until service time at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
