Helen Louise Adkisson Sebastian, 79, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 1, 2018, in Mobile, Alabama surrounded by family.
Louise was born on February 4, 1939 to James Ulas and Sallie Belle Adkisson in Brewton, Alabama. She graduated from W. S. Neal High School and moved to Mobile in 1963. The next year, she met the love of her life, John Sebastian, and they were married on May 21, 1965.
Louise was a lifelong member of Community of Christ and very active in its ministries and activities. She loved to dance and, along with her husband, was a member of Azalea Ballroom Dance Club. Louise also enjoyed researching family history. Above all, Louise loved and was very proud of her family. She will be missed for her sweet personality, bright smile, and kindness to others.
Louise is survived by her husband of almost 53 years, John Sebastian, her daughters and sons-in-law, Robynn and Michael Gravel of Madison, Alabama, and Angie and Ken Pruna of Mobile; grandchildren, Rachael and Andrew Gravel; brother- and sister-in-law, Robert and Donna Sebastian of Royal Oak, Michigan; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service for Louise will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, on Monday, March 5, 2018 at noon. Graveside immediately following in Mobile Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors prior to the service from 10:00-12:00.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mobile Community of Christ, 672 Azalea Road, Mobile, AL 36609.
