Herschel "Hank" Tate Rider

Mr. Rider passed away Sunday at Thomas hospital after a short illness.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Evelyn Bowman Rider, three children: Brenda Rider Puckett (Dwain), Allen Tate Rider and Lee Rider. He also leaves behind 3 grandchildren: Jennifer Puckett Neidhardt (Shawn), Allison Puckett Chase (Brad), and Jackson Rider and 5 great-grandchildren: Kaitlin, Kennedy, Karsen, Viveigh and Deacon.
Mr. Rider was a 10 year veteran of the United States Navy where he served in the Korean War aboard the USS Oriskany and the USS Valley Forge. Mr. Rider was born in Gainesville, GA to Marion James Rider, Sr. and Anna Belle Gittens Rider. Mr. Rider moved to Mobile, AL in 1971 where he resided until 1999, when he moved to Baldwin County. Mr. Rider was a devoted employee of the Hampton Inn in Daphne, AL where he worked until two weeks before his death. He was an avid gardener and loved to cook. He was very active in his church and loved his church family at Magnolia Springs Baptist Church in Magnolia Springs, AL.
Services will be held Wednesday, November 2nd 2016 at Mobile Memorial Gardens with visitation at 11:00 and services starting at 1:00.
