Hildred Maxine Pierce Bridges, age 94, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2014 surrounded by her family, at the Eastern Shore Longtime Care Center in Daphne, AL. Hildred was a native of Mobile, AL and longtime resident of Fairhope and Daphne, AL. She was a member of Barnwell Baptist Church, Fairhope, AL. She worked many years at Brookley Air Force Base in Mobile. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren. She loved fishing, reading good books, cooking and working with her flowers. In her last days unable to read, her caregiver, Rena Gross, read the Bible to her daily. Hildred was very creative. She could always make something special out of almost nothing at all, and always did the best she could with what she had. Hildred was preceded in death by her husband, James Daniel Bridges, Sr. father, Napoleon B. Poley Pierce mother, Beulah Pierce sister, Esther Pierce Tanner and greatgrandson, James Johnson. She is survived by her loving children, James D. Bridges, Jr. Adonna, Rudy Bridges Retha, Randy Bridges, Sr. Marsha, Carolyn Bridges Johnson Leighton, Dennis Bridges Robyn her grandchildren, Scott B ridges Kim, Lisha Bridges Burnett Keven, David Bridges Debra, Steven Bridges, Kathryn Bridges Pulliam, Butch Bridges, Jr. Samantha, Dee Dee Bridges Johnson Icard Wayne, Sterling Bridges Jackie, Stuart Bridges Leigh Ann, Amy Lynn Johnson Strickland Scott, Allison Bridges Lyons Jonathan 17 greatgrandchildren 2 greatgreatgrandchildren, and many much loved nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is also survived by her sisters, Juanita Pierce Leytham Sanders, Joann Pierce Gibbon and brother, Rudolph Pierce Nita. All who knew Hildred loved her. She will be remembered because we, her family, believe that Christ was raised. We know that there is certainty of life beyond the grave we know we will have eternal life with the God who made us, and we know that we will see her again. Serving as Active and Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Bridges, Bradley Bridges, Jerrod Bridges, Gill Johnson, Jackson Bridges, Scott Bridges, David Bridges, Steven Bridges, Butch Bridges, Jr., Sterling Bridges and Stuart Bridges. Visitation will be Friday, December 5, 2014 from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral Services, officiated by Rev. Danny Cresswell, will begin at 12:00 Noon.
