Hughie "Jack" Hammac passed away in Mobile, AL, Saturday, November 4, 2017, at the age of 74, with his family by his side.
Jack was born on May 31, 1943, in Century, Florida. He grew up in Mobile, Alabama, attending Baker High school where he played football and basketball. On October 23, 1960, he married his high school sweetheart, soul mate, and the love of his life Frances "Frankie" Jordan. He was a long-time resident of Lucedale, Mississippi. He worked at Kimberly Clark until his retirement in 2000 during which time he was the epitome of hard-worker. He enjoyed cooking, working in his garden, and taking care of his many animals. He was an avid sports fan, who lived and breathed Alabama Crimson Tide football, ROLL TIDE! He was truly a family man who loved them more than life itself. He was their HERO and their rock. He was very loved and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his children: Vicky (Charlie) Cash, Gregory (Paula) Hammac, Terry Williams, Daisha Cauley, Barbara (Bruce) Anglin, Robert Hammac, and Mitchell (Mayuko) Hammac; his grandchildren: Tawny, Megan, Corey, Tamra, Andrew, Andrea, Christopher, Casey, Shelby Lynd, Tiffany, Demi, Travis, Shelby Allen, Jada, Tyler, Matthew, Austen, Dean, Tayden, Camren, Trendon, Destyn, Gavin, Burgandy, Taryn, Kai, and Sakura; and his twenty-three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Houston (Marie) Hammac and Robert (Marie) Hammac. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Jordan Hammac, mother Mary Boutwell Hammac, father Mack Hammac, son-in-law William Cauley Jr., and great-grandchild Jakob Anglin.
The family will hold a private memorial in his honor.
