It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hunter Zaine Meyers, who left us on January 21, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. Born on June 19, 2006 at Springhill Memorial Hospital, Hunter lived a life brimming with energy and passion.
Hunter is preceded in death by his grandparents, James "Bill" and Billie Bozeman.
Hunter is survived by his parents, Amanda and Michael Meyers, his siblings, Dakota, Peyton, and Ryleigh, his grandparents, Diane Cloteaux (Pete), and Joseph Meyers, his aunts and uncles, Anthony Bozeman (Serrena), Thomas Bozeman (Stacey), and Angie Martin (Jim), and multiple cousins, great-aunts and uncles, and friends.
Growing up, Hunter was a bundle of energy that everyone around him wished they could bottle and save for a rainy day. He loved immersing himself in video games, and playing sports like baseball, football, and basketball with a competitive spirit and a joyful heart.
A proud graduate of Theodore High School, Hunter pursued his dreams at the University of South Alabama, majoring in Biomedical Science. He aspired to become a Physician's Assistant in Pediatric Oncology, dedicated to making a difference in children's lives. At South, Hunter joined Phi Kappa Sigma Fraternity, a brotherhood that brought him so much joy and purpose.
In a personal memoir, Hunter expressed, "While I know one day it will take me, and I will go onto a newer and greater adventure with the Lord guiding me, I remain persistent in knowing that I lived a life full of adventure, while knowing that it's the one God planned for me." He further shared, "My dream is to become a symbol of hope, not only for people in situations like mine, but for anyone facing any type of adversity."
Hunter's life was a testament to resilience, faith, and hope, inspiring everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who loved him.
