We share the news of Ida Lucille Colvin's passing on February 22, 2024, with a mix of sorrow for our loss and gratitude for having known her. Born on January 10, 1935, in Laurel, Mississippi, Ida's journey through life was marked by quiet strength and a caring nature.

Her early education took place at Huntsville High School, followed by Judson College, setting the stage for a life rich in experiences. She and John Colvin joined hands in marriage on June 5, 1955, and together they built a life that would stand the test of time for 68 years.

Their story began in Huntsville, Alabama, and in 1970, they moved to Mobile, which became their long-term home. Ida's commitment to her family was unwavering, and her support never wavered.

As a member of Luke 4:18, she was engaged and faithful. Her community there will remember her fondly.

She is survived by her children, Debbie Mack (Scott), Danny Colvin and Janice Lopuhovsky (Ski), her five grandchildren and her five great-grandchildren. Each of them reflects a part of her legacy.

Ida's life was characterized by her readiness to support her family and friends. She will be remembered for this enduring quality.

Please join us in honoring her life at the funeral service, Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 in Mobile Memorial Gardens at 10am. The family will receive friends from 9am until service time Wednesday at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
