Isabella Marsh Baldwin entered her heavenly home on September 8, 2024, in Mobile, Alabama at the age of 90. Born March 20, 1934, in Bessemer, Alabama, she was a cherished member of the Baldwin family and affectionately known as MeMe to those that love her.
Isabella graduated from Brooksville High School in May 1952 as the Valedictorian of her class, where she also played and lettered in basketball. She married the love of her life, David Eston Baldwin, on December 19, 1952, at Macon Presbyterian Church. She had a fulfilling career with Southern Bell, South Central Bell, and AT&T, which brought her to Mobile, Alabama in 1955. She retired in 1986 after 32 years of dedicated service. Her commitment to her family was paramount in her life. She loved helping with her grandchildren. After the loss of her husband, Isabella began traveling with family and friends. Her adventures included trips to serve with DBO Ministries in Guatemala, Israel, Alaska, Hawaii, and a partial transit of the Panama Canal.
She was a charter member of West Mobile Baptist Church where she was deeply involved in her spiritual community. From working in the church nursery for many years to being a member of the Keenagers Senior Group it was unmistakable that she had an undeniable faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She also served faithfully every Monday morning for over 20 years on the church's Counting Committee where she was the Chairperson for many years.
Isabella is survived by her children, Marsha Burt, David Baldwin (Patricia), Donald Baldwin, and Dana Hicks (David); her grandchildren, Kristy (Daniel)Harper, Brian Keith (Jackie) Burt, Shannon Mendez (Ronald), Paul Baldwin (Shelby), Onna (William) Andrews and Lauren Baldwin (David), and her great grandchildren Isabella, Michaela, Zachariah, and Ela amongst others. She was preceded in death by her loving husband David Eston Baldwin, and her parents Isabella Grant Marsh and Clarence Marsh.
Visitation will be held at 11am on Monday, September 16, 2024,at Mobile Memorial Gardens, followed by a funeral service at 12pm. Her beloved Pastor Kevin Cobb will be officiating with dear friend, Rev. Phil Romine leading music. Pall bearers will be David Baldwin, Paul Baldwin, David Hicks, Ronald Mendez, Lucas Medley, Joey Johnson, David Lawrence, and Robert Tyus. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DBO Ministries P.O.Box #562 Semmes, AL 36575.
